This kitchen renovation in Short Hills, New Jersey was designed to reflect a more traditional aesthetic, grounded in classic detailing while maintaining a sense of refinement and livability. The goal was to create a space that feels timeless and elegant, with a strong connection to the architectural character of the home.

The design is centered around custom cabinetry, incorporating classic profiles and subtle detailing that give the kitchen a sense of structure and permanence. A carefully considered palette of soft neutrals and warmer tones was selected to enhance the traditional feel while keeping the space light and inviting.

Material selection played a key role in reinforcing the overall aesthetic. Stone surfaces introduce a sense of durability and quiet luxury, while wood elements add warmth and depth. The combination creates a layered composition that feels both polished and approachable.

Particular attention was given to proportion and layout, ensuring the kitchen supports both daily use and more formal entertaining. The space was designed to feel balanced and functional, with each element thoughtfully integrated into the overall design.

Lighting was approached in a way that complements the traditional character of the kitchen, combining ambient illumination with more decorative fixtures to enhance both atmosphere and usability.

As with all of our projects, the design reflects the way the client lives—resulting in a kitchen that feels cohesive, enduring, and tailored to its setting.
