Obsessed with design and driven by a deep artistic sensibility, Julieta Alvarez founded Julieta Alvarez Interiors in 2015 with the intention of creating interiors that are both soulful and refined. Based in the tristate area, Julieta has worked on a wide range of high-end residential projects throughout New York City — from Manhattan to Brooklyn — as well as Westchester, Connecticut, and New Jersey, including the Montclair area.

Julieta’s process begins with an in-depth style discovery, allowing her to fully understand each client’s lifestyle, taste, and emotional connection to their home. Through thoughtful dialogue and careful observation, she uncovers what truly resonates — whether it’s a particular material, color, or piece — and builds a design narrative around it. Her approach is intuitive yet meticulous, informed by constant research, a trained eye, and an unwavering commitment to finding the right balance between beauty and function.

Rather than adhering to a single aesthetic, Julieta’s work is defined by a layered and collected sensibility. She seamlessly blends old and new, contrasting textures, and a mix of wood and metal finishes to create spaces that feel sophisticated yet welcoming, modern yet timeless. Her designs are never formulaic; each interior is tailored to feel personal, lived-in, and quietly luxurious.

Julieta’s extensive travels and lifelong appreciation for architecture and beautifully crafted spaces have shaped her refined point of view and instinctive sense of proportion. Originally from Argentina, she moved to New York City in 2000 to pursue a career in interior design. Her background includes working for a real estate developer, graduating from the New York School of Interior Design, and spending five years at Jeff Lincoln Interiors before launching her own studio.

Outside of her work, Julieta is a devoted mother of two who draws inspiration from family life, travel, and time spent in the ocean surfing — experiences that continue to influence the warmth and authenticity found throughout her designs.
